Making EMCA Work for Environment and Livelihoods in Webuye
RECONCILE is undertaking advocacy and capacity-building activities aimed at strengthening the capacities of communities and individuals to make demands on institutions entrusted by law to manage the environment, to monitor their performance and engage with them and other stake holders to promote sustainable management of the environment.
This project is working with local CBOs in Webuye as well as the local government to address the challenges arising from the environmental pollution that emanates from PanAfrican Paper Mills situated in Webuye town. We plan to develop a collaborative framework that will bring together the key stakeholders in Webuye to collectively address these challenges to secure the environmental rights of the local communities and their health.
