Special programmes encompass one-off projects generated through partnerships.  These projects provide opportunities for RECONCILE to work with other like-minded local and foreign organizations in pursuit of common interests.  Often such special projects contribute directly to the other substantive programme areas of work.  Within the framework of Special Programmes, RECONCILE is presently undertaking case studies on customary land law in Kenya, Southern Sudan and South Africa in partnership with FAO, with a view to developing a long-term programme of work on ascertainment of customary land law.  It is also part of a consortium of local and international NGOs implementing the Regional Pastoralist Livelihoods Advocacy Project (REGLAP).  Through Special Programmes RECONCILE also undertakes consultancies and hosts interns from both local and foreign universities.
