Internship Programme
RECONCILE offers internships to university students specializing in environment and natural resources management, policy and law, gender, poverty reduction and community development among others. The internship programme aims to provide students at different stages of their courses with meaningful field experience in their relevant fields. In addition to gaining experience in their field of study, the interns acquire experience in organizing forums, writing proposals, and undertaking action research and advocacy.
RECONCILE hosts environment and international development students from McGill University during the summer, providing them with an opportunity to experience development work in East Africa, understand the realities and challenges of underdevelopment and opportunities for policy and legal action to secure rural livelihoods and the environment. Locally, students from Nairobi, Moi and Egerton Universities have benefited from this programme. Plans are under way to institutionalize this programme by signing agreements with specific faculties of local universities.
